Man, just goes and grows up gold
Altered his ego for Nate Lesco
With the ambition to upgrade pro
Explores various sounds and colors
Moved by the will to kill it and kick it
With his brand new improved skillset
Out here, grinds even when the sun sets

First time he spread the word about his musical world, he started as an an aspiring rapper. Then the young MC announces that he has « pursued a different sound »: Nate Lesco was born.

Already grounded in hip-hop and jazz, Lesco’s was looking for more to quench his thirst of creativity. Fascinated by the likes of Drake who have the ability to rap and sing in the same song, he began to explore his voice.

You could feel the talent and potential, yet the space was much more reserved for rapped verses, delivered through different rhythmic patterns, as he studied many types of flow.

One single drops – Ecstasy -, quite catchy, then another one – Time Flies -, and another one – Keep Me.

His artistic direction gets more and more mature, with a distinctive sound. Rapping over mellow melodies from the keys, sophisticated sound effects, and playful hip hop drums, Lesco adds singing bridges, then singing choruses, and makes it sound cool.

More than a rapper, it feels like he’s turning into one of these R&B artists he’s been looking up.

This duality between rapping and singing follows him in his musical journey: the old Matthew Guerrero against the new Nate Lesco; the young rapper that challenges himself to be a complete artist.

2018 sounds like a new year for Nate Lesco, though. For this is the time for him to release, finally, his debut EP, titled Lover!.

And, in this first full length project, you can appreciate how far he came. Previously, he never sang that much in his tunes. Groovy People is a smooth opening to the project. Cherry Cola, the main single, follows with the sweetest vocal rendition.

The groove of his voice, all soft and emotional, recall subtle Michael Jackson influences, specifically with Backroads, which sounds like a MJ love song, with that feeling to live everything in slow-motion.

The global mood of this EP is chill. Used To is the only trap song. It doesn’t last long until Nate Lesco enjoys again sing along Posters with a flow so mellow, you could float over his lyrics.

Morality, this debut EP, Lover! by Nate Lesco, is a success, when you acknowledge the grind of a young aspiring artists that rose from the ground to bloom in his own time.
