Hollie Haines – A Seven Month Storytelling

Hollie Haines has been promoting her album like a series of open-hearted letters. One month, one new letter, one new song.

This ends up to some kind of a seven month therapy to rise and shine again from her last love.

Released in April 2018, ‘Except For You’, is the heavenly opener for a soothing seven month concept album, from April to November.

A new track has been released monthly, each representing a unique stage of healing after losing love and covering the emotions of loving, losing, hurting, missing, healing, letting go and loving again.

In the opening track, sparkling cello and angelic vocals suggest a pure and blissful picture of unconditional love blooming in the zenith of Springtime. The sound feels comforting, and calms you down like a silent night with no tomorrow.

Suddenly follows the chapter of disillusion with ‘Like I Used To’: “I don’t know you Like I Used To“. Vocals in the chorus give a sharp rendition of Haine’s astonishment and sorrow.

The story evolves with All You Did which sounds lightly more cheerful. Snapping out of it, Haines is slowly opening her eyes, acknowledging her self-worth. With Since You’ve Been Gone, these two tracks seem like the therapeutic transitions for Hollie Haines to forget all the hurt and allowing herself to feel Better and love afain.

The final chapter with the latest single, ‘Mine’.

This final track ‘Mine’ marks the final ‘Loving Again’ stage and will be released on the same day as the whole album. Haines said the inspiration for the final track came from watching a friend fall in love –  “I wanted to write about a love that was so real, that it gave a constant reminder than love can come back into your life, even when you think you’ve lost it for good. The friend that inspired this song is that reminder for me”

Haines has worked with number of musicians and producers on this album, one of which is award winning producer Lauren Deakin-Davies. Hollie says, “working with Lauren was amazing, it’s probably the best recording experience I’ve had. She perfectly translated everything I wanted into the music and she helped make ‘Mine’ absolutely perfect” .
