Inspirational singer-songwriter Sharlene-Monique comes back with a debut EP, soulful and meaningful as can be. Destiny, 5 track EP, is her very first body of work, released April 13th 2018.
More than just a songstress expressing her feelings, she is an authentic storyteller gifted to communicate pure emotions and share relatable stories.
‘YOU’ has been streamed over 135,000 times on Spotify, with 12,000 monthly listeners and won Best Solo, Best Inspirational and Music Video Of The Year at the Jump Music Video Awards 2017.
Speaking of her debut EP Destiny, Sharlene-Monique says, “It feels amazing to finally release my songs. I’ve had messages from people all over the world who heard ‘You’ and have asked for more music. I feel proud and passionate about every song and I hope people can connect to them.”
Her soothing vocals, flying over dancing guitar strings, bring you a slight feel of joy (Awe and Wonder). Her smile you can hear, as you rejoice along a blend of neo-soul flavors spiced with subtle african rhythms.
As vibratos go and freely rise, the singer suggests another feeling of (self) freedom, relief and letting go. Destiny brings peace to self. The instrumentation for the track itself, made of a loop of a melody on the guitar is an ongoing and soul-healing vibe.
Sharlene-Monique is now successfully tackling a new creative challenge; sharing her personal message of self-acceptance, self-love and self-empowerment to all who will lend their ear to her first EP release. Besides, « self-love is the very first romance », as raps Akua Naru.
The multi-skilled musician hails from a past of singing dancing and teaching across the UK and Europe. Recently she was seen, being part of the Kingdom Choir, performing for the Royal Wedding. In this same choir you can also notice James Francis, previously discovered on Sounds So Beautiful too.
Destiny is a combination of self penned songs written by Sharlene and collaborations with the likes of Jake Isaac and her husband (and producer) Chris Morris (chrismorrismusic.com). All songs have been mixed by Grammy award winning mix engineer Alan Branch.
‘Destiny’ is now available for download via iTunes, Amazon and Spotify and is a much listen as well as many other UK artists such as the likes of Jules Rendell, Shan Smile or Cherri V who’s recently released the first volume of her Brown Eyed Soul trilogy, probably her best work, perfectly and honestly blending her Gospel and Carribean influences into her R&B music.
