Olive B – Freestyling And Creating Beautiful Vibes Naturally
Cool was the mood,
Cruising under the moon
When she blew these few beautiful words to this one she calls her boo
Creative singer-songwriter Olive B has bloomed in the belly of Toronto. From lonely practice, she started to network and collab with local producers.
“Coming from a classically trained background, it was freestyling alone over basic guitar chords or over beats at parties that I really found my musical outlet.
Then I met Kayobe, a Toronto producer who was looking for a singer for his single Sun Don’t Shine and our musical connection was felt immediately.
Weeks after meeting we began co-writing and producing my debut album No(w)here, which was released May 29 of last year“ explains Olive B.
From this project, the producer Kayobe for example the track For Miles
No(w)here is a chill-ambient type of vibe. Ethereal, the production softly invites you to lay down and keep calm in a peaceful afternoon.
“The majority of my recent music has been in collaboration with Chewy, a Vancouver producer, who I met through mutuals. When it came to creating my new single, Chewy sent me the beat and 30 minutes later, I responded with the freestyle for the first verse of joey moon.”
Letting the melodies of her vocals freely flow over a progression made of simple and mellow rhythms is her sound signature.
Soothing, minimalist and stripped-down electro-R&B vibes, Olive B’s songwriting softly suggests a dreamy atmosphere. Listeners may feel like floating as her voice is rising. Spontaneous and organic, Olive B’s music is natural.
