Perfect are the harmonies in the beginning,
Penetrating are the feels in the songwriting
Beauty unveiled, tears run dry from wide open eyes
Hopeful to testify a new delight under new lights
Singer-Songwriter from South Wales, John Adams, sticks well to his goal to blend organic music, strong storytelling and minimal electronic production;
His soothing and emotional latest single, See You Again, proves it.
As a busker, he came a long way and his talent for storytelling and acoustic feels come along an enjoyable way to bring out original music.
In 2011, John appeared on the X Factor singing ‘Cannonball’ by Damien Rice. He was widely credited for getting ‘Cannonball’ back into the charts, making history as the first time a song had re-entered at a higher position than the original release.
He then funded his debut album by busking across the country. ‘The Pavement Is My Stage’ was released in 2013 and reached No.7 in the iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts, scored a 5 star iTunes rating and was aired on radio nationwide.
John has supported household names such as Take That, Lemar, Stooshe, Luke Friend, Mike Dignam, to name a few.
Last year, he released ‘Dandelion Wishes‘ the first single taken from his forthcoming EP due out in June/July 2017. The success was such that the track reached over half a million plays on Spotify.
For the saddening yet rejoicing at the time song See You Again, John states “I wrote the song when a friend’s dad passed away, I wouldn’t consider myself a religious person but the only words I can ever find to comfort the people left behind is the hope that there’s a heaven” .
And it is interesting to observe how much spiritual aspects take space in his songwriting and visual.
His previous video for another single of his, Things That Make You Beautiful illustrates this idea with a that has an empowering message and a visual that inspires purity:
This single is aimed at highlighting the Soul inside everyone, and allowing the blind to open their eyes and finally recognize how good and fine they are.
A beauty we can appreciate with delight through light and smooth dance moves.
His videos are actual pieces of art and reflect truthfully and beyond the storytelling in his songs.
He’s preparing an EP coming out this summer and both his singles are already available on iTunes.
