Tameca Jones: Blooming Soul Singer, On Top Of Her Game
Took her years to bloom
Either as a colorful
Either as a powerful
Soul Sister, born after a long staring at the mirror
Searching for the core of her ‘Naked’ Soul.
“What did she find in the reflect of the glass?” some may ask:
A one of a kind woman with class and sass.
Warm and wonderful, Tameca Jones, sometimes compared to Tina Turner,
Spreads her two wide wings, while flying on top of her game,
When she’s not falling head over heels in love for someone,
An affair going downhill.
Local Austin TX artist, Tameca came a long way:
Back then she used to perform with the band 8 Million Stories as the group’s lead singer and songwriter.
After 2 and a half years of booming success, the group called it quits, leaving Tameca by herself.
So she spent years performing covers,
Skillfully nailing the classic songs of the legendary Tina Turner, Nirvana, Elton John, Jimi Hendrix and more,
Deserving the title of “Queen of Austin Soul”
However, as might say Alex Turner and Miles Kane, you might feel as “ghost in the wrong coat”,
Going on as the cold and sad shadow of yourself.
This is why, Tameca Jones kept writing for potential original song until she find the opportunity to math them with the perfect chord and production.
Her Soul has been boiling to strip off the covers, and is now happier to feel natural.
That’s how you get a debut single, ‘Hot And Bothered‘ off of a debut EP titled ‘Naked‘.
This single seems to be straight out of 70’s Motown ongoing vibes.
The duo guitar-voice reflects perfectly the couple of words ‘hot’ and ‘bothered’.
The guitar brings all the heat in this track, relating how someone hot and smoking can make you feel inside your body.
The voice, warm, sensitive, sexy and fragile, expresses how much one can feel ‘bothered’ around his crush.
Talking about crush, the drums gives the idea of how well this this tendency for love searching can ‘make your heart beat like a kick-kick drum’ (Janelle Monae).
Previously she’s collaborated with her long time friend, the guitar living legendary Gary Clark Jr. for a duet on his album ‘The Story Of Sonny Boy Slim’.
What is more 2015 has been one exceptional year for Tameca, as she made her debut on the Austin City Limits Festival.
Collecting a list of distinctive accolades, she’s ready to blow minds away out of the Austin frontiers
As she’s preparing her first national tour, to support her brand new, colorful ,various, and purely honest EP ‘Naked’.
