This Friday May 29th, 2015, the outstanding Maciej Obara’s international quartet invites you to cruise along The River Thames in London:
At 8.15 pm, ‘A Cruise Down the Absurd’ is your live boat experience. The quarter will be playing with Gideon Reeling, “Purveyor of Bespoke Interactive Theatre Experiences”.
Taking inspiration from Mareek Piwowski’s cult film The Cruise (1970) and its absurdist humour with A Cruise Down the Absurd, guests will be treated to the laugh-out-loud interactive performance created by immersive UK theatre group GideonReeling, sister company of world-famous Punchdrunk.
Once upon a time, concerts were given to Kings and Queens; this time the waves of the River Thames shall shake for the sake of a Jazz Legend
As Obara International is giving a musical tribute to the Polish composer Krzysztof Komeda, famous for his numerous movies soundtrack from the 1960’s and 1970’s.
The cast are hugely talented in creating immersive performance and Gideon Reeling will bring their particular brand of comedic interactive theatre onboard a vintage cruiser for the duration of the evening.
A fun reimagining of the film The Cruise, this comedic romp of a party will keep a keen eye on 2015 and the current political landscape.
Gideon Reeling’s characters will play deck games and hold comedy discussion groups, offer a three legged dancing competition, dress the guests up for a masquerade ball, form human pyramids, and more.
The guests will be invited to sign away their rights with the officials, interview for a job as part of the crew, all while trying to work out just who they’ve appointed to be in charge of it all.
The performance will be accompanied by live music, inspired by the Polish film music from the 60s and 70s, plus a DJ set presenting a mixture of 70s party music, film and comedic music.
