Hamish Anderson – Rock & Blues Music Is All About Capturing The Moment Live
Romantic songs to drive along the curves of the road, down memory lane
Writing love letters in cursive to express a whole load of love without shame
Shambles of a Good Man from Australia, with the Blues… love is a Trouble maker.
Hamish Anderson is the new Blues & Rock genius getting praise and attention.
His debut album, Trouble, released in 2016 has been a great success so far, pictured by beautiful visuals.
The video for his latest single, ‘U‘, breathes new life into the album. Poetic as can be, the clip reveals a masterpiece when it comes to a blend of blues and rock music. This third single, from his debut album, produced by Jim Scott (Tom Petty, Ryan Adams), is a sweet and endless amorous ballad.
Deeply rooted in the nostalgic vibes of old blues, the keys set up an overwhelming atmosphere, the drums and bass invite you to a slow dance going back and forth, while the guitar and voice happen to be the sensual expression of romance.
Finally, what makes it a masterpiece is the switch at 3 minutes and 30 seconds, getting sightly more rock.
The song features Chris Bruce (Doyle Bramhall II) on bass, Aaron Sterling (John Mayer) on drums and Jerry Borge (Jonathan Wilson) on keys.
“We wanted to do the majority of it live, with very few overdubs—get a really great band together and have it be about the songs, not about spending so much time on how the bass drum sounds.
It was capturing, warts and all, the live thing.
Rock music and blues music shouldn’t be perfect, and I’m really proud that there’s no Auto-Tune on it, that nothing was done to a click track.”
