The Dunwells – Making A Song So Vibrant, Till It Becomes An Anthem
Fearless and reckless young days, full of dreams and ideas for a whole life
Breathless when your recognize you’ve been a fool for your whole life
In distress, wandering like a lone wolf, lost soul, in a city that never sleeps,
Hopeless, wondering if you could go back your path from the start
Blessed to receive these soothing words in your heart that say ‘It’s Ok This Time’.
The Dunwells have just released another single to fix your feels like Coldplay would Fix You back in the days.
It’s OK This Time is their latest track, follow-up of their album ‘Light Up The Sky’, produced by Stephen Harris (U2, Kaiser Chiefs and The Wombats), songwriters Blair MacKichan (Sia) and James Flannigan (Kodaline).
This is the perfect team to create timeless songs with sounds that can touch a whole mass of individuals right in the heart, for anybody can relate.
Anyone has once wished to start over, wash up their mistakes from the past, pawn it all.
This new piece is a vibrant song, a blast of emotions, written with tears, regrets, hope and smile.
Indeed, the lyrics begin with the picture of dark days, along melancholic rhythms of the guitar strings, painting sorrow
Until we cross a bridge of hope, stepping of the beat of the drums, carrying on, holding on to desperate wishes and hopes
Before the healing and relieving back vocals rise up to indicate a new start, a new chance.
The Dunwells are well known for their heroic tone, epic dimension, and cinematic approach in their songwriting.
Either the ethereal back vocals, the guitar strings or the down tempo drums contribute to give the shapes and shades to all the suggested emotions.
The Dunwells are very much a band of brothers.
Consisting of two siblings and two close school friends, the hardworking quartet from Leeds, their songwriting has grown over the years since school, enriched by extensive US and UK touring in support of the band’s 2013 debut, Blind Sighted Faith.
“There were so many euphoric moments on tour, and we’ve tried to capture those feelings in the new songs,” says Dave.
Those memorable moments included an appearance on Late Night With Jay Leno and performances at Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits Fest and the Bonnaroo Festival, as well as sold out shows across the UK.
Talking about performances, they’re currently on tour, and preparing 2017 with many surprises:
