Laura Roy – A Voice Designed To Make You Feel Good

7 days ago we were appreciating the Happy Canada Day,

Remembering all the fantastic emerging artists that came our way

Straight outta Toronto, for some, or Dundas for others

It has been fortunate discovering these few singers/songwriters, bright gems.

Today another gem is to add to the collection,

The kind of precious stone in Canada you can only find in Halifax, Nova Scotia,

In the dead of the night, when the moon is full:

Laura Roy.

Within one year and a half

Laura Roy made it to release her debut EP, a 6-track piece written and recorded in Toronto and New York City with producers Adam King, Joel Stouffer (Dragonette) and Ari Leff (Epique).

Her self-titled EP is mixed with the flavors of soulful RnB and pop

A recipe accessible for everyone, and result of a great musicianship,

Added to the fact that each song comes from a honest thought;

Call it honest poetry.

“I’ve been working on the EP for the last year and a half. I’ve tried to make sure the music represents my experiences in a way that feels true to who I am as an artist right now”. – Laura says.

Laura Roy, a must listen and see in the emerging scene.
