Let escape your mind
Blown away by a wind coming from the window seat
Where eyes lose themselves, in a landscape of imagination
Shaped by the “subsconscious takeover” of DreamVacation’s melodies,
Atmospheric mellow vibes produced by famed producer/engineer John Rausch who has worked with such acts as Florence and the Machine, Taylor Swift and Foxes.
DreamVacation’s stellar lineup includes Gerry Matthews on bass and backing vocals, Morgan Terrinoni on guitar, and Noah Alexander on drums.
The band members previously supported live acts such as Foster the People, Airborne Toxic Event, The War On Drugs and Matt & Kim.
The four piece also had success placing songs in films and TV shows, including Showtime – Shameless, TNT – Boston’s Finest, and SYFY – Being Human, to name only a few.
No wonder how imaginative and inspired could have been their songwriting,
As the band has written the EP at a rehearsal space in downtown LA, and recorded in Kingsize Soundlabs in Eagle Rock.
“LA is such a juxtaposition of opposing landscapes,” says Ray Silva.
“One minute your rolling through a really upscale area and the next you find yourself on 6th Ave passing the inner city refugee camps of the homeless.”
The band members’ personal stories over the last three years have been equally up and down.
They’ve endured breakups, living out of rehearsal spaces or cars, marriages falling apart, and family deaths.
But they learned to write as a group, and that forged songs such as “Window Room,” “Press Play,” and “End of Time.”
Ever since you press that “Play” button, this four piece’s personal puzzling stories turn into universal stories
Setting a common ground for listeners, who can feel like watching a reflection of their lives in a imaginative mirror, all along the heartfelt lyrics.
“We hope to inspire people to think and see things differently than they normally do. And maybe even remember things they thought they forgot. To feel more connected and sense that there is more kindness available than it seems.”
They sure can inspire their listeners, by providing such a thoughtful philosophy, telling it all about their aspirations:
We are not rich, we are not poor,
We don’t have a lot of money, but we have enough.
One day we will all have a sad laugh at the dollar,
How it used to make us so evil towards one another.
How it used to allow us to be manipulated around every billboard covered corner
And turned us into everything we had never hoped to be,
Even when we swore we were not.
Longing for the days when we had more soul.
We are soul ya know, level, balanced, love personified,
It’s not just the child in us, it’s the adult in us too.
Recollect, connect, repeat. What is this about?
All of us,
