Ella Martini: Latin and Soul Flavours
Friday October 30th, was the date of the release of ‘Cut The Ties’, very first track of Ella Martini‘s such anticipated debut EP, ‘ “The Indigo Pages”, which you can already pre-order here.
Ella Martini… 20 year-old Oxford based RnB singer/songwriter, is one of these flowers you take delight watching bloom, exposing exploding colors: she’s an emerging artist in full blossom.
Unique vocal style, the taste of her Latin and Soul music influences, you can feel out of her mouth,
Having grown up with an Italian‐Venezuelan father. “I think my dad wanted me to follow him in to dancing, I love to dance, but it was singing for me.” – Ella Martini.
Beside her vocal standout, her style also takes place in the very clean acoustic and stripped down configuration:
Her faithful band is a keyboardist and a guitarist, who kicks the beat to support the ongoing melody.
This combination emphasizes the heartfelt Ella’s storytelling and global songwriting.
After getting to the final of “Live and Unsigned” at the tender age of 15, Ella began gigging around the UK.
She has a natural flow of positive energy on‐stage, much more than that, she looks very mature for her young age.
This has landed her support slots with the likes of Jess Glynne and MNEK.
Following cosigns from BBC Introducing and BBCR1’s Jen Long for her debut track ‘You‘, Ella was called in to 1xtra for an interview and to premier her second release ‘Dealing With This’.
1xtra and Warners’ Sian Anderson made Ella their ‘Next Generation Shout’.
Support from tastemakers and live sessions followed, with MOBO selecting Ella for the final of their
UnSung Competition and songwriting body PRS making her their Featured Artist.
Coming now with ‘Cut The Ties’, Ella Martini shows off her evolution along the years.
Very much different from ‘You’ and ‘Dealing With This’, she’s exploring a vocal range even more intense.
Besides, as far as lyrics are concerned, both ‘You‘ and ‘Dealing WIth This’ dealt with growth and self‐discovery from a
jaded relationship.
Through ‘Cut The Ties‘Ella’s looking at the intensity of emotion at the start of a new relationship.
The full EP with its three other tracks will be released in November, with Martini gigging alongside EP video releases.
