Samara Joy speaks about Authentic Songwriting | Interview

As the greatest Jazz festival in France, Jazz à Vienne, hits its grand closing night, Marcus Gon welcomes Samara Joy and her team in the backstage.

Together, they sat down for 20 minutes of good and in-depth conversation, all about touring with long time friends, Black music and songwriting approach. If you wonder how a jazz singer won a Grammy for Best New Artist, it’s because, you can feel how Contemporary her voice sounds.

Samara Joy goes beyond genres, she masters aesthetics. Raised in a Gospel and Soul background, she’s been taught to do the music in its purest form. In this episode, you won’t just listen a 2 times Grammy Award winning singer, but you’re about to appreciate a genuine and sensitive 23 year old young artist, fully dedicated when it comes to study the greatest, in Jazz, Gospel or R&B, as well as when it comes to write and compose new music.
