Cleo Sol – A Mood For Self-Appreciation

If bliss had a color it would be Sweeter Blue.

After the surprise release of Cleo Sol follows up with a brand new video for her single Sweeter Blue, previously reviewed on Sounds So Beautiful.

Cleo Sol may be writing love songs though really she sings about self-love. And as Akua Naru used to sing, “self-love is the very first romance“. Sweet Blue sounds then like a moment of self-appreciation, perfectfly pictured here in this visual. Cleo Sol is solo-moving along these new arrangements, with back vocals that breathe a carefree sensation, and suggest ideas of lightness.

The new harmonisation on the piano emphasize a joyful feeling, along playful rhythms. Talking about rhythm, the drums added to the track gives spices the track with an old school hip hop beat. The vibe feels nostalgic and timeless. Overall, the production remains loyal to what you could experiment listening to the Winter Songs vibe.

Coherence is key, and this is enjoyable to appreciate a link between Cleo Sol’s video. Besides the message of the song, she always adds her personal touch and makes it intimate and passionnate as well.

From One to Sweet Blue, you can notice her passion for dancing. You can feel how much dancing is part of her and is actually her very own way to express her thoughts just as well as singing.

“The one thing that can solve most of our problems is dancing” (James Brown) so Cleo sings and dances to her vulnerabilities, weaknesses, traumas, and to unity and world problems bigger than her.

Sweet Blue, I’m Still Young and One announce a brand new album coming soon.
