Shane Henry – Peace Of Mind For A Songwriter

Counting your blessings in the thick of the struggle

Allows you to glow and reach a new peak in the middle of the dark.

This is what Shane Henry inspires his audience with his music and the account of his career, as a musician who began his musical quest in a small town in Oklahoma.

Shane Henry, firstly discovered with his Christmas duo with Maggie McClure, offers a new album, Light in the Dark, released this April 28th,

Produced in part by David Ryan Harris (John Mayer, Dave Matthews, Santana) and Justin Glasco (The Lone Bellow).

This is an amazing collection of eleven beautiful pieces that mainly depict an optimistic spirit despite the hardships a songwriter encounters along his career.

On the album cover, Shane Henry might be looking down, yet glows already, surrounding a calm and peaceful blue light, like an aura of confidence.

Besides, the color blue inspires some kind of spirituality, even religiousness, and Henry stresses hereon the search for salvation along his album, with songs like Save Me, or Dare You Devil for many personal reasons and feels.

Musically, you can feel it in the shades of Soul and Blues inside the making of his Rock music.

These two ideas clearly picture the meaning of the title of his new album, Light in the Dark.

“This record reflects my development as a songwriter,” Henry suggests.

Positive impact and uplifting feels can only result from such a concept and vision for this opus.

Shane Henry has definitely been making his own way to the top, building his career accomplishments on top of accomplishments.

His fifteen year career counts six successful releases You’re Comin’ Home (2000), Deliverance (2004), The Love EP (2007), Beauty in the Struggle (2011), and a pair of holiday EPs with Maggie McClure, First Thing on My Christmas List (2012) and Happiest of Holidays (2015) .

Added to a prolific touring and solo performances throughout the country.

Along the way, he racked up an impressive record: 30 dates supporting B.B. King, a signing with the influential independent label Shanachie Records, work with Stevie Ray Vaughn’s renown backing band Double Trouble and recordings with guitar great Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

In addition, many of his songs have received international exposure, courtesy of placements on NBCCBS, Discovery Channel, Hallmark Channel, and the E! Television network, as well as through feature films, radio airplay and retail sales.

That is an impressive accomplishment.

“I’ve experienced the highs and lows that accompany a career involved in making music,” Henry admits.

“The songs I’ve included on Light in the Dark express that range of emotions —

The struggle, the spiritual journey, the excitement and the enlightenment, all while trying to offer some thoughts about what it takes to find one’s place in the world and the steps we need to take to realize our dreams.”

The man keeps Running Towards The Sun.
