Eneeks – Wise Writer On The Rise Releases “Seasons” ft Omar
“I remember when
I remember when I was just a kid
I was just a kid tryna get big
Now I’m gettin’ big, gettin’ real big, ooh
Play another gig, droppin’ new shit
Yeah, bunch of bullshit problems still exist, damn
Tryna figure out how to live without, yeah” (Buddy, Real Life S**t.)
“The younger version of me just wants to blow up
The older version of me just wants the doe up
The God version of me just wants my soul up” (Eneeks, Going In)
Born and raised in London, Eneeks, rapper and writer can relate and absolutely resonate to these lyrics from Buddy. Since sixteen, his dreams have been leading his feet to the music industry. After the release of his last project, back in 2017, “My Queen, My King, My God”, the young poet is back on track, with a brand new single, titled Seasons.
Colorful and playful tune, Seasons offers a smooth blend of modern Hip-Hop and neo-Soul. The beatboxing that opens up the song with a bass line gives a taste of Old-School Hip-Hop too, dear to Eneeks’ influences, with a subtle hint of bebop. Refined and one of a kind is the songwriting, over quite a futurist production.
This perfectly fits Eneeks’ artistry, under the influence of Soul, Rare Grove, and Jazz. When it comes to rap, you can feel how the likes of Jay Z and other great storytellers from the 90’s inspire his penning.
Eneeks teams up with Omar Lye-Fook, the one people like to call the father of British Neo-Soul. These past twenty years, Omar made his legacy in the jazz scene, and is known to lend a hand to the new generation of upcoming artists and emerging gems (such as Louise Golbey for her single The Outsider). His creativity when it comes songwriting and music production never disappoints.
“I’ve been seen as a true feen
My dream team that pull strings like the kingpin
At sweet sixteen I’ve seen things happen
Made me pick up the pen bruv and started rapping” – Eneeks, Going In.
Eneeks is known as the artist who captures the truth in his word play, constantly challenging the listener to take in every aspect of his complex thoughts. Through his music Eneeks continues to make waves in the underground scene of New Soul Hip hop.
After London, Eneeks had the opportunity to travel and meet new musicians that share the same vision in music. That’s why you can find him collaborate with French rising band Electrophazz, and experiment new ways to express his poetry, travelling the world, and touring in India.
