Sharlene-Monique sings “Human” for more empathy and kindness

Be a nice human
Take the time to smile at the one standing next to you
Be a nice human, Be a nice human
We all need love and hope in this thing we can “life”

Things got tense since last year! If you need a break, we recommend you to sit down for 5 minutes and listen to Sharlene-Monique’s new single “Human”. The London-based-singer-songwriter released it on Friday 5th February.

When this song came out, she had another surprise in store: indeed, Sharlene-Monique announced she’ll go on tour with UK pop icon Gabrielle. This tour has been postponed to November 2021 and will take the two artists to UK and Ireland for 18 dates.

“I’m always inspired to write music that empowers and encourages people, and after the year we had in 2020 this song feels like a great message to put out at this moment in time. This song was inspired by a young man I met whilst working in Italy and his story along with some of his struggles moved me to tears. It’s about community and how there is so much more that unites us than divides us” explains Sharlene-Monique.

Sharlene-Monique likes to inspire others and reveal the power that everyone carries within him. She wants people to realize their true value. One of her big passions is to help them through that process: “I know we all have an opportunity to grow”, she sings in « Human ». Music is a universal language, so she uses it to spread her message.

« Human » is about learning to be present and kind to others and ourselves. This ballad isn’t judgmental, but it reminds us how easy it can be to brighten someone’s day, just by a smile or a few words. These are simple gestures, but you also feel content when you give your time and your kindness to others.

The single’s visual shows a picture of a crowd in black and white. The faces are indistinct, just like when we go out to work or to accomplish certain tasks without really paying attention to others. However, the word “Human” is written in red and catches the eye: that’s what we have to keep in mind.

Sharlene-Monique shows us here that we need to be more human and attentive towards one another, especially during this complex and confusing period: “It’s the little things that bring the biggest change”. Choosing to be a better person day by day is a rewarding life goal; by doing so, you can feel good about yourself and inspire people to walk in your footsteps too. Furthermore, you can’t say the world doesn’t need some extra love these days!

We already talked about Sharlene-Monique’s art on Sounds so Beautiful: positivity, self-love, self-acceptance, and peace of mind are the main subjects of her songs. She uses her life experiences to express her faith and to encourage listeners to evolve in their life, despite any fear, hesitation, or resentment.
