One cannot paint about pain till he felt it.
Stelle Amor is able to pen the darkest lines of her life and still find some kinda beauty in it.
Relatable stories,

Her personal emotions may resonate with 100 listeners and more,
This is 100 Proof that music brings love, empathy and gathers people as one.

“100 Proof ” came out June 19th, 2020, oozing with cinematic and sultry tones. Today, Sounds So Beautiful is happy to premiere its official lyric video.

Experienced songwriter, Stelle Amor can feel proud of her own journey, and how well she mastered her craft.

Indescribable style, you can’t classify her sound to Jazz, Soul, Blues, or Alternative Pop/Rock. She’s a mix of everything. She effortlessly blends different sounds, and create something pure and honest.

Her voice is deep, and slow burner singles like “100 Proof” marks her sound signature: she’s the best when it come to play it slow, so that she can fully occupy the space with her voice, bring substance to her lyrics and emphasize emotions.

Inspired by the likes of Amy Winehouse, Lana Del Rey, Janis Joplin, you can tell Stelle Amor’s musicianship leads her to write timeless songs, with pieces like 100 Proof.

This sounds so cinematic, this feels like a whole drama move scene. The type of scene that reminds you of a sad moment from Django Unchained the film.

INTERVIEW

Sounds So Beautiful: I think it’d be a good idea for you to share a word on your journey from Spike’s Groove to 100 Proof.

Stelle Amor: Wooooooooo- what a journey it’s been from “Spikes Groove” to “100 Proof.”

I spent the first half of my career really focused on live shows.  I developed the songs on my first EP around how they would be played and performed live.

Lyrically I even used a lot of dialogue for the purpose of interacting with the crowd.

Nashville has really blessed me with amazing musicians to work with but has also shown me how fragile band life can be.

Most people play in multiple projects, and players’ priorities shift based on opportunities, making it a serious struggle as an independent artist with limited funds to keep a stable band. This and my national TV debut really shifted my focus from live shows to recordings.

I took a big leap and was a contestant on the Fox TV show “The Four.” That experience was eye opening for me and I gained exposure to millions overnight. This caused me to gain fans all over the world and made me realize I would benefit more from spending my small budget on music that could be viewed ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, instead of the fleeting experience of live shows.

My one continuous saving grace through all of this is my partner Dr. Dave, who went from playing keys in my band and producing the EP, to diving into a world of covers and learning how to create our own music videos. Our time started to go towards YouTube and releasing songs to people all over the world, instead of just playing live at local and regional venues.

It’s been really fun to see us grow and it’s beautiful to know we will just get better.

The other big game changer in my career was meeting London legend, Ian Barter, former musical director for one of my heroes, Amy Winehouse. I was in awe and so inspired to have the chance to work with him.

100 Proof” is the second single released that he produced and there are MANY more to come. I’m so proud of all the magic that we have created and eager to share.

There are a lot of personal issues and stories I let out in these new songs and it’s my hope this honesty brings some healing and hope to people who can relate to the darkness that I’ve felt.

I feel like a new being after all the hard lessons I’ve learned over these past 5 years and all the amazing opportunities that have given me a platform to grow. There’s been so much beauty born in the growing pains and I can’t wait to see where these songs lead.

Sounds So Beautiful: Would you share your thoughts on what’s happening in our world these days, and how much it affects your work, your music, your creativity?

Stelle Amor: 2020 has been a hard year for almost everybody. I know I’ve personally seen more destruction and had more hardships than ever before.

Yet, I feel more energized than ever to create and build a better life and world. I think the catch for me currently is how to say things.

There are so many things I want to say, but due to the diversity of my audience and the highly polarized, politicized, and tribal social climate, it makes it so difficult to word things in a way that will bring unity not further the red and blue propaganda that’s dividing us.

It’s a delicate dance to fight oppression and spread peace. The only thing that I really know is that LOVE is the only way.

It’s my mission to keep trying to grow not only my self love but continue to create art that breaks boundaries with honesty to connect souls inspiring more community love.
