Amalie Bryde Unveils New Single « Remote Control »

Lack of motivation… call it procastination.
The sound of distraction rings like a risky temptation
Or an invitation to house slow destruction, in a room for depression
Stop comparising other’s lives to yours
Start living yours with its own colors.

Previously introduced on Sounds So Beautiful as Kool Kat, East London-based, Danish-born singer-songwriter, Amalie Bryde is back on track. Today she proudly presents brand new single, entitled Remote Control.

2 years ago, we discovered a young woman with a nice approach to music. At the time she already demonstrated a very creative songwriting, as organic and authentic as possible.

After searching her sound for these past two years, she’s now back with a music she can relate to, a music that fits her personality, a music that feels like hers.

She entirely wrote, composed and produced Remote Control herself. The song deals with the need to prevent procastination and comparison from distracting us from our joy and self-esteem.

Vocal harmonies, smooth drums, and the mesmerizing groove inspire to find that joy.

Her music takes root from Melancholy, Jazz, Soul, Acoustic, Hip Hop, and Electronic influenced sounds.

From the age of 10, Amalie Bryde was a recognizable performer in bands, choirs, and musicals in Haslev (a town in the southern part of Denmark) where she was born. Aged 12 Amalie started writing her own songs on the piano and in 2015 she recorded her music from her Copenhagen bedroom.

By 2015 Amalie was also well-known on the Music & Copenhagen Dance Scene (Pivot Dance Co. & Copenhagen Dance Space) dancing full time and working with various producers and songwriters from the scene.

In March 2018 Amalie Bryde decided to throw caution to the wind and moved to London with her laptop and microphone not knowing anyone in the music business.

In our last interview, we remember asking Amalie if Spoken Word was something she’s into.

SSB: Have you ever tried to rap too? Or do Spoken Word?

Kool Kat: Great question! Yes, I have and I wish I could pull it off.

And two years later, she’s releasing a song with Spoken Word in it:
