The Soundcrash Funk & Soul Weekender announces new artists to the line up!
In 2020 the festival brings the party to Margate, one of the most exciting seaside towns in the country, with some of the world’s finest musical talent to the epic new setting of Dreamland.
From 29th to 31st May, experiment a once-in-a-lifetime weekend of live music. Legendary icons of Soul music are announced, such as George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic. Together they developed an influential and eclectic form of funk music during the 1970s that drew on science fiction, outlandish fashion, psychedelic culture, and surreal humour.
Presented as the “Kings of the London jazz scene”, Ezra Collective is inspired by the likes of Herbie Hancock and Fela Kuti, but through the prism of contemporary rhythm. Their creativity and imagination seems limitless. They go and explore every type of sound, from the core of contemporary jazz, to hip hop and afrobeat.
Recently we’ve discovered the brand new show of Hannah Williams, during her tour in France, and it is a great news to have her back in The UK, featured in the Weekender line up too.
She’s a powerhouse voice, helped with two impressive back vocals too. Hannah Williams is loyal to the roots of gritty and raw Soul Music. She breathes new life to the genre and stands among those artists that participate to the Revival of Soul Music.
