TUELO – Inspirational Soul From South Africa With A Rocking Voice

The young woman had left her family farm in South Africa for America

Guided by the strength found in her voice

And driven by her love for meeting people, crossing cultures, sharing tradition, and her care for spirituality.

Her name is Tuelo Minah, and she’s bringing out some very original craft, rich and  refreshing material.

Talking about culture and spirituality, she shares on stage the way African people behave at funerals: it ends up as a party where everybody dancing and singing, despite the death.

She’s sharing this part of her culture, blending it with Rock and Punk vibes which create an actual experience of two worlds fusing together (the American with the African one) and so echoes the story, and so resonates her voice, and so booms the instruments on stage…

Greatly inspired by Miriam Makeba, Nina Simone as well as David Bowie and Blondie, TUELO masters the art to fuse her South African musical roots with American Pop/Folk with tastes for Rock and Punk music:

Her fierce vocals, so raw and expressive help her feelings get really communicative.

In Saint Margaret sharp beat of the drums emphasize the strength of her voice, while the guitar strings echo with her wild and loud harmonies.

Nostalgy indeed as Saint Margaret is a homage to Tuelo’s mother, Seabi, whose « English » name is Margaret.
